Insured Kids Now is a national campaign to give the estimated 10 million uninsured kids of low-income families cheap or free health care. This program is sponsored by the Health Resources and Services Agency and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It works with Wal-Mart, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Postal Service and many more in order to prevent the issue of uninsured kids in America. They must fit into an eligibility group that is recognized by state and federal law and each state has different eligibility requirements. This nationally-funded and state administered health insurance does not send payment to you; instead they worry about paying the health care providers. It is important to note that sometimes you will have to pay part of the bill which would be noted as a copayment, but overall Medicaid will cover most of your expenses. An important thing to note in this program is that it covers the children of undocumented people that are born in the United States. If you are not sure that you qualify or if you want to read more about this government program you can call your state’s Medicaid office.
